Matt Keene's reflection of losing 140-150lbs,
“I lost about 140-150lbs with the help of DDR and a weight bench. But before I found DDR I tried walking and a weight bench and I only lost 20lbs, then after DDR it melted off in under a year. So the main factor of my weight loss is the intensive cardio workout that is DDR.

Darryl Seelinger - Lost 40lbs!
"I started playing DDR in 2000, but I only really started playing in 2003. Since then, I have lost about 40+ pounds. I used to weigh 290, close to 300, but now I weigh 250 and dropping. With DDRs help, a decent diet, running, and lifting weights, I am able to keep the weight off and keep losing it." [ Last updated: 7/12/04 ]

My name is Tom Mitchell.

Esahn Dulin - Lost 56lbs!
"My name is Esahn Dulin. I am 16 years old and I live in Sunrise, Florida. This is about How I lost a large amount of weight playing a video game called DDR. I was never much of an active person when I was younger. At the age of 6, I would rather play video games and with action figures than outside with friends. I was once on a little league baseball team but I just never took a liking to the sport. Besides being inactive, I ate a lot. I would always take seconds and thirds when it came to dinner and dessert and sometimes a candy bar at night. Having this lifestyle, you can picture my weight sky-roocketing by the time I was 12. I was taunted a lot by other children when I was at school and it made me depressed so I wanted to get rid of the weight. I tried little things to lose pounds but I wasn't properly motivated to lose weight until I weighed 256lb. I tried things like proper diet and joining a basketball team but I didn't receive the results I wanted. It wasn't until I went to an arcade that I had a solution to my weight problem. One day my friends and I passed by the Dance Dance Revolution Extreme machine in the arcade and noticed there was a free credit on it. We never gave the game much notice in the past but since there was a free credit, we wanted to give it a try. After playing the game, we enjoyed it and continued to play it every week. After two months, I noticed my weight dropped to 247 and I knew it was because of DDR. I chose to purchase the home version and a dance pad and it really make the game part of my weight loss routine. After a year, I now weigh around 200 lbs and I owe much thanks of it to DDR. The reason DDR was so effective was because it's simple to learn but hard to master the game which has you move your body and everyone can enjoy it. I play on level heavy and can play many 9-foot songs. I still play DDR to slim up but most of the time I play for the fun of it. " [ Last updated: 8/13/04 ]

Jessica Friesen – Lost 30 lbs. playing DDR
I’ve had a weight problem my entire life, from childhood through adolescence and even into my adulthood. I've tried everything to lose the weight; watching calories, watching fat, fad diets, aerobics, even vegetarianism. Nothing ever worked for me, I would get bored and just give up or hit a plateau and eventually regain the weight. I peaked out at 5' 8" and 270 pounds, despite my efforts to lose weight. I first discovered DDR on a trip with friends to Las Vegas in October 2000. Little did I know that my first time stepping on the dance pad was the start of an obsession that would stick with me for years. I absolutely fell in love with the game and searched for it everywhere back home to no avail. Finally, in late December 2000, our local Golfland/Sunsplash got a DDR USA mix. I spent every non-working, non-sleeping moment on that machine, played game after game until I felt like I was going to fall off the pad. Over the next 6 months, I worked my way up through the difficulties and I worked my way down in pounds. I lost 30 pounds having fun! It was great! DDR definitely changed my life because for the first time ever, I was able to exercise and enjoy myself. It took the chore out of being active, which is something we see a lot of in the U.S. If you've ever had the urge to give it a shot, go for it! It's good fun and good for you! Louis Gao- Lost 60 lbs. playing DDR
"My name is Louis… I'm 14 years old, and I've been playing DDR for almost 10 months. When I first heard about DDR via one of my friends in December 2002, I was fat. And I mean FAT fat. I was 255lbs, to be exact. [At first] I was surprised at how… lacking in skill, and how tired I got from playing light songs. Well, come March, I was a bit more skillful, and I'd dropped to about 253lbs. I was still routinely getting tired after doing normal songs, so I was frustrated that I wasn't able to get better…. I started playing all the hard songs. My weight started dropping steadily, from 253…to 247…to 240…to 236…. Zoom to July…. By now I've cut my weight to 224, and I don't get tired much anymore…. Well, let's jump to the present now. I now weigh a (comparatively) slender 196. A big difference from the 255 I started off as."[ Last updated: 2/01/04 ]

Terry George- Lost 50 lbs.

"I weighed 310 at the middle of September and after starting DDR in Mid October, I've lost 50lbs and now weigh 260. I'm still FAT but if things keep going like they are going I'll be thin in no time. I play DDR between 5 and 7 days a week. I'm 16 and male and play on Heavy difficulty also. DDR is the only weight loss thing that had worked for me since I've tried losing weight so I don't plan on stopping anytime soon and plus ITS FUN!"[ Last updated: 2/01/04 ]

Roy Dodd- Lost 60 lbs.
I'm an 18 year old male from South Carolina and I started playing DDR almost a year ago. I weighed 260 pounds and you know, the usual i hated how i > looked and being fat blah blah. As soon as I started to play heavy mode and actually became kind of good, the pounds just melted off of me, and now I'm down to right around 200 even and i'm SO happy with myself. Since I can remember I've never been able to even feel abs but, now i have a 6 pack forming ^_^, i have great muscle tone in my legs...they're hard as rocks, and incredibly my arms have gained muscle tone from holding the bar alot. I look at my face in older pictures and look in the mirror and i've lost almost my entire jaw..it's funny actually. All in all, as a weight loss program, I would DEFINITELY recommend this to ANYone who wants to lost weight, if our just tryin to lose a few pounds or all out change your entire appearance, DDR is the way to go, It's fun, healthy, and highly addictive, you don't even realize your exercising! Well, that's my story and yes, ddr is a great weight loss tool...thanks for listening! [ Last updated: 2/01/04 ]
